Writing Classes
When / Where:
Indiana Writer's Center
dates and time vary
I love taking classes at IWC. I met my writing group ladies there, learn so much with every class, and enjoy being among writers, amatuer and professional.
This is the first stop anyone should take enroute to a writing career!

Writing Group
When / Where:
usually someplace we can have Indiana food and beer
After taking some classes I absolutely recommend connecting with classmates. That's how I met my writing group and I couldn't be more thrilled to know such caring, creative, and talented women! Since forming our group in March 2014 we have each experienced such joys and trials, and proven we are here for each other outside of our writing endeavors as well.
Our advice is this: find people who aren't afraid to give you constructive criticism, are willing to meet, and genuinely love to see you succeed.
My group was meeting once a month with submission dates two weeks before meet up's, but we found that while deadline pressure is good, it is also a stressor and somewhat restrictive.
Try things out with your group, find what works for you all and go with it. Don't set rules in stone!
